Gladys Chav Harvey is a south-west based artist whose work blends social engagement, storytelling, and community collaboration. Over the past decade she has been deeply involved in creative projects supporting displaced young people in Calais, where she developed participatory works that amplify refugee voices and challenge public narratives around migration. Her ongoing project, Paper People – Hung Out To Dry, brings together UK schoolchildren, refugee communities, and the wider public in a shared act of creative solidarity.
Working across drawing, installation, and collective making, Gladys explores themes of belonging, resilience, and the human impact of political borders. Her exhibition Before & After at Rockaway Park reflects this commitment to art as a catalyst for empathy, connection, and social change
