ABOUT US

Rockaway Park is a subversive DIY gem nestled in an old Quarry in rural Somerset.

An unclassified creative hub, this DIY Utopia offers plenty and shows that another way is possible. Equidistant and on the outskirts Bristol, Bath & Glastonbury, Rockaway Park is many things.

It’s a venue with 2 stages and has a vegan cafe that is open 7 days week and all year round. Rockaway is nestled in the Somerset countryside and boasts a beautiful community garden which provides produce for the cafe and is volunteer lead. Rockaway has its own chapel, but that’s another story, The chapel of Unrest. Join the congregation and learn all about here.

Rockaway has it’s own recording and rehearsal studio. It also has some lovely accommodation with two beautiful studios and a bunkhouse in the trees. The bunkhouse is perfect for touring or recording bands.

Rockaway recently opened its own gallery and will be host to many events, exhibitions and happenings throughout the year. We have our own classroom and run workshops all year round. From foraging, electrics, to kids graffiti classes and glass blowing.

Rockaway is home to a vibrant creative hub with a range of artist studios which include: Carpentry, Screen printers, Framers, Glass blowing, Upholstery and lots of Fine & Contemporary art.

Above all it’s a community.

Come visit us and say hello or sign up to our newsletter and keep up to date with all that happens here at Rockaway Park.

PARKING

We have limited parking at Rockaway and we’re actively engaged in trying to find solutions to our traffic issues. Parking is free (and trouble free) on non-event days & weekdays. Parking is charged (£5 per Vehicle) during events and Sunday sessions.

We're lucky enough to have tolerant neighbours and one of them allows us to use an adjacent field for parking. However, if the weather is bad it will be hard to access so please help us work with this and think about it all. If you're not prepared to pay for parking, please don't upset our neighbours by parking on Eastcourt Road, as much of it is too narrow, especially near the Rockaway Park entrance. Disabled parking is free and available on site always.

ACCESSIBILITY

Rockaway Park is full wheelchair accessible. We have an accessible toilet as well as free accessible parking. For any special requirements please contact us and we will do everything to ensure you have a problem free visit

OPENING HOURS

Monday - Saturday 10am - 5pm

Sundays 11am - 4pm

HOW YOU CAN HELP US

“WOULD THOSE WHO SAY IT CAN’T BE DONE, PLEASE STAND CLEAR OF THOSE DOING IT”

Rockaway Park is committed to helping people though community engagement and sharing skills, knowledge and experiences that benefits others, irrespective of income or situation. We’re always looking for alternative ways to do traditional things that are ethical, sustainable and help create a better world. Everyone we work with has the same commitment to our ethos to help us succeed in our mission to make radical changes in how humans exist on this planet. We recycle/reuse/repurpose wherever we can, and utilise green energy, as well as ethical and sustainable practice to support biodiversity, creative output, health and well-being.

We're not a charity, we’re not rich, and we're ineligible for most funding streams, which means all our activities have to be self-sustaining to ensure we can keep going. Any profit we do make is ploughed back into developing our community-based projects and spreading the message about our mission. In helping others think of alternative ways of doing traditional things, we're aiming to create a ripple effect of positive manifestation. There are various ways you can help us, as well as other good causes we support. Please click the Patreon link & also the Chapel Of Unrest link to find out more and sign up to our mailing list.
