FOR SALE › MARCH CATALYST CLUB #2

MARCH CATALYST CLUB #2

£10.00

Sunday 29th March - 4pm running till 7pm ish

Roast dinner optional at 3pm ahead of speakers at 4pm, which can be booked here

Catalyst Club is a simple idea: passionate people sharing the things they love. Each speaker gets 15 minutes to dive into a topic that lights them up, inspired by the spirit of old French salons, debating societies and gentleman’s clubs. Niche, quirky, surprising… the subject doesn’t matter. The courage to share it does. You bring the passion, we give you the stage.

Speakers:

Dave Panit – Journeyman - Small Says, Sketches and Tall Tales (elaboration not fabrication).

Dave’s skills were honed in the horse drawn, fairground, circus, tattoo and festival scenes since the 70’s.

Dave’s prolific art can be seen in the UK, Ireland and wider world - including much of it at Rockaway.

Sue Gent – Artist - Swallows on the Moon (and other wonderful mistakes)

Sadly, swallows don’t really fly to the moon, hares don’t have horns, and moles don’t have eyes on the soles of their feet (as far as we know). Yet these theories were once put forward by the foremost thinkers of their day.

Sue celebrates fascinating natural-history errors and explores what they reveal about the interwoven paths of magic, folklore and science. Could revisiting them help us find a little more enchantment in our lives?

Gemunu De Silva – Undercover Investigator - Sonic Art Undercover: Sound from Animal Industries

For more than three decades, Gemunu has worked undercover investigating animal industries around the world. In this talk he explores how covert field recordings gathered during those investigations were transformed into a powerful sonic art project.
